At the age of 81 years old this is Marvin Cape’s first book. He lives in Arizona with his wife of forty one years, Norma also an accomplished author, and their little four footed child, Pepper. He has written this book from his own life’s experiences and some 40 years of counseling and pastoral experience. Some of the characters in this book are based somewhat on real people but their names have been changed. As a younger man he loved to fish, hunt and play baseball. He still enjoys being out in the forest with the trees, watching the little critters such as squirrels, and listening to the birds chatter. He loves the feel of the wind in his face and to watch the clouds float by in the sky. He is an accomplished woodworker and craftsman. But his real passion is to teach the Written Word of God to those who wish to learn.
Never Give Up: A True Story:
One day while fishing high up in the, mountains in a mountain stream in Colorado a man was not catching anything. He could see the Trout swimming in the clear cold the water. He would put his bait right under their mouths but the fish would just turn away. He became very flustered. After several hours he was about ready to give up and go back to camp. Suddenly it struck him. He realized the fish were swimming against the current catching bugs, etc. as they floated downstream. When they tired, they would go to the side of the stream and get into a small eddy and rest until they recuperated and then go back out into the current to feed some more. The fisherman realized that if he took a small rock and tossed it at the fish hitting just underneath it, he could knock it out onto the bank and just go over and pick it up and put it in his creel. Well, it was not good sportsmanship but it filled his creel and he ate delicious Trout for his dinner.
Moral: Never give up! P.S. Don’t tell the game wardens!!!
There is nothing in the world that I hate any more than abusing young children and women. People that do this to them are not human but real skuz balls and the scum of the earth. They are cowards that are not strong or brave enough to live their own lives without inflicting pain and suffering. They just have to beat up on someone smaller and weaker than themselves. Strength is not always muscle power, it is will power. These defenseless children and women are so much stronger than any one of the abusers ever thought about being. The abusers will ultimately get their just reward from a very vengeful God, that hates what they do more than me. God does not allow these things to happen to them. He does interfere with the free will of man. It is man that makes the decision to abuse the defenseless.
Twin girls raised in a rural community in the 1940’s have a remarkable and inspiring relationship with God. Following an unfortunate event that upended the world of the twins, Candy and Kannie’s delightful devotion to their heavenly Father results in a community-wide transformation. This should be required reading for any teenager lost in these current days of darkness.
